Why E&P Hydraulic levelling for caravans?

The levelling system for caravans

E&P Levelling system for caravans - Level CThe E&P Hydraulics Level C is capable of levelling a caravan in under 2 minutes and is designed specifically for caravans to provide impeccable stability on any ground

Why Level C?

Campsite pitches are rarely level. This can lead to sleeping on a slope while your caravan rocks and shakes in the wind; cupboard doors fall open and water doesn’t drain away from the shower or sink. In most cases, it takes chocks or a jack to level your caravan. This takes time and effort… which is the last thing you want when you’re on holiday, especially if it’s cold or raining.

E&P Hydraulics set the benchmark when it comes to levelling systems for caravans, offering fully automated levelling with the Level C Complete while the Compact System provides an affordable semi-automatic alternative.

E&P Hydraulics Level C Complete for CaravansLevel C Complete

The E&P Level C Complete system offers the gold standard in levelling for your caravan, providing unparalleled stability and fully automatic levelling in under 2 minutes.

When activated, the system lowers two hydraulic axle jacks, levelling your caravan side-to-side. Four hydraulic corner steadies are then deployed, levelling front-to-back.

In Manual mode the wheels can be raised off the ground, enabling you to rotate your tyres in the winter, avoiding flat spots. The sides of the caravan can also be lifted independently, to facilitate emptying the wastewater tank.

The system comprises two hydraulic axle jacks that can either be operated automatically or manually to level your caravan side-to-side. Levelling front-to-back can then be achieved manually with a jockey wheel and corner steadies.

E&P Hydraulics levelling systems are provided with a control panel that’s fitted in your caravan as standard. Upgrade options also include a removable touchpad that functions as a wireless remote control when it’s removed from its docking station. Then there’s the intelligent E&P Hydraulics app for smartphones and tablets for the ultimate wireless interface that’s always at your fingertips.

Build quality

Level C is a state-of-the-art system, designed around knowledge and experience. The base plates for the legs are built with stainless steel, making them resistant to rust, even after years of use, and all key components are coated to protect against corrosion, stone chips, rain and dirt.

Caravan owners also have to pay special attention to the weight of any additional accessories, which is why Level C is constructed with premium, lightweight materials.

VB-CoilSpring suspension: Everything you need to know

VB-CoilSpring - Coil spring suspension - RosmiaCoil springs to support your suspension

VB-CoilSpring is the ideal suspension solution for vehicles that are constantly heavily laden but don’t carry variable loads. The addition of the VB-CoilSprings will increase your vehicle’s ride height, improve stability and reduce body roll and pitching. Vibrations and bumps on the road are also better absorbed, providing a more even ride.

Why VB-CoilSpring?

Your suspension is a critical component for the safe running of your vehicle, so if your original suspension system is unable to support its laden weight and ride at an even level, its movements can feel unstable and abrupt. The vehicle can end up sagging and you risk hitting the bump stops or wearing out the tyres. VB-CoilSpring is the ideal suspension upgrade for vehicles that are always heavily laden but don’t carry variable loads because it’s a non-adjustable system.

TowingRide Height

Vehicles that sag under excess weight are more likely to hit the bump stops, resulting in poor vehicle handling and an uncomfortable ride. VB-CoilSpring increases your vehicle’s ride height under load, preventing it from hitting the bump stops and improving ground clearance.

Towing

VB-CoilSpring at the rear is a particularly good choice if your vehicle is solely and constantly used for towing, because the hitch-weight of a trailer can drag the rear end of your vehicle down, causing it to sag. The addition of rear VB-Coilsprings will help to even out your ride height under load and improve road handling. For an adjustable solution (if your vehicle is only occasionally used for towing) VB-SemiAir or VB-FullAir may provide a better solution.

In vehicles that already have coil spring suspension, the original coil springs are removed and replaced with the reinforced VB-Coilsprings; whereas in vehicles with leaf suspension, additional coil springs are mounted to the existing leaf springs, reinforcing the original suspension. Your VB-CoilSpring kit will come with all the necessary certification and credentials, including VOSA and VCA, so you can rest assured of the quality of your upgraded suspension system.

Technical tip: getting your motorhome ready for holiday

MotorhomeSpring is here and that means we’re all itching to get out of doors again! The closer summer gets, the more the ‘travel bug’ starts to bite. We know exactly what you mean! But, is your motorhome all ‘ready to go’?

When the weather gods are smiling and it’s time to start thinking about that well-earned trip away, you don’t want any anxiety about comfort and safety when driving your home on wheels. You want to be able to benefit not only from maximum ride comfort during your journey but also the highest levels of safety. Your holiday should start relaxed – that’s why a house on wheels that handles perfectly is a must.

Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a full-on road trip to visit some of your favourite countries – your home on wheels has been stationary for long enough. But before you head off in your motorhome, it does need some extra care and attention plus the necessary checks and inspections.

Most likely, all it will need is the usual standard checks: the oil level, tyre pressures and the battery status. Checking these and making the necessary adjustments is extremely important before you set out on your journey. However, a key aspect often gets left out of the picture; the chassis of your motorhome.

Why is it so important to consider the chassis of your motorhome?

Your pride and joy will be loaded up to the gunnels – of course – with everything you need for your trip. So much so, it could be so overloaded that it reaches or even exceeds its ‘technically permissible maximum weight’. The weight of the motorhome superstructure itself already puts the suspension under a great deal of strain. In fact, the existing suspension on your motorhome is not designed to cope with this amount of weight, which means that your motorhome will start to ‘drift’ when you are driving. When your motorhome drifts, there is not enough spring travel. So, when the shock absorber on your motorhome starts to compress, the bump stop will be reached.

We offer various solutions to these suspension and related problems – just a few of the suspension problems motorhome owners regularly report experiencing. Want to find out how we can make a world of difference for you? Check out VB-Airsuspension’s motorhome brochure here with a range of options for your home on wheels.

Technical Tip: The right reinforced coil spring for your vehicle.

VB-CoilSpring - Coil spring suspension

Helper and reinforced coil springs – also known as the VB-CoilSpring – are suspension systems that support or reinforce the existing suspension in order to correct a suspension problem. Is your vehicle always (heavily) laden? For example, do you regularly travel in a service vehicle – so your vehicle is your workshop and transport combined? In this case, the VB-CoilSpring can be an excellent option.

Two coil spring versions available

Our VB-CoilSpring is available in two versions: the replacement spring and the helper spring.

  • The replacement spring
    • The name ‘replacement spring’ more or less speaks for itself. When fitting a replacement spring, the original coil spring is ‘replaced’ by a reinforced version.
  • The helper spring
    • When a helper spring is fitted, the original suspension is retained. A helper spring is always installed alongside the original suspension and acts to reinforce the original suspension.

Replacing the original coil spring with a replacement spring – or installing a helper spring – will ensure that your vehicle returns to its original (or higher) ride height in both cases. The spring travel will increase, stability is improved and comfort enhanced. The reinforcement to the spring force is permanent and cannot be adjusted, which means that the VB-CoilSpring is the ideal option for vehicles that are always (heavily) laden.

Which coil spring version is best for your vehicle?

For vehicles with coil springs, either a helper spring or a replacement spring can be fitted. In the case of a vehicle with leaf springs, it is only possible to fit a helper spring.

Precise axle weights are required to then determine which version you need for your vehicle. Based on this, you will get an appropriate and specific recommendation on whether the VB-CoilSpring is the best option to solve your suspension problems. To get the precise axle weights, the vehicle needs to be weighed on a weighbridge or on weighing plates in a garage. Unfortunately, the vehicle typeplate is not sufficient here, since it only states the maximum permissible weights, not the exact weights. Our engineers at Rosmia will be able to advise you accordingly based on these precise axle weights.
